Identity development for the Faceplant Boards logo and custom typeface was designed as a college class project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faceplant Boards is a brand dedicated to the skater who eats it on a six stair handrail but has the determination to get up and try again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faceplant Boards\u2019 identity would need to stand out in a graphically saturated skateboarding market. I started this process by choosing a company name that was bold, humorous, and referenced a fact of life for any skateboarder, the inevitable faceplant. I then developed a hand-generated wordmark based on the shape of the Faceplant icon. This complementing bold icon was created to represent the edgy and humorous nature that is Faceplant Boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
